Bringing mom to Malacca (2D1N)

Planned to depart from house by 9am but my father bought us breakfast, so we had breakfast before going which ones shouldn't because we need to save the stomach quota for Malacca food!

Anyway, I departed from Seri Kembangan at 9:30am and reached Jonker Street at 11:30am, only stopped once at highway R&R to connect my Spotify to car loll. There's a parking lot right beside Jonker Street that only charges rm5 per entry, no need to find parking and risk getting saman.

First stop in Malacca is always gonna be Jonker 88.

Jonker 88 is famous for their laksa and cendol. There's baba laksa, nyonya laksa (one of them is more milky but idk which one) and kahwin laksa, we had the kahwin laksa (rm8.50) which is half baba laksa & half nyona laksa. Not a cendol person but I'd always order their cendol (rm4.25), altho that uncle put too much of the gula melaka this time.

After that we walked down the street and browsed around some shops on the street. At the end of the street you'll see a huge souvenirs shop called San Shu Gong. Some posts suggested that their coffee is nice so I tried it.

Got their iced white coffee (rm5.80), too rich for my liking. Sat upstairs to finish this coffee and chill because they have air-con and my mom can't stand the hot outside anymore.

Actually I wanted to eat at Chung Wah, the chicken rice ball shop opposite San Shu Gong, but it's closed for the day, maybe the boss wanna prepare for the upcoming election lol.

If you walk further down from San Shu Gong and cross a bridge you'll see this red house (I think can count as a landmark). Didn't walk near it and other tourists spot because my mom again can't stand the sun anymore. So we ended up walking back and shopped at H&M (also opposite of San Shu Gong).

As we were walking back to car I found out that we almost forgot to take photo with this muscular guy statue, if you didn't take photo with him you didn't visit Malacca. Also I bought chicken rice ball take-away because my mom is too full to eat at the moment.

Drove to Nadeje @ Plaza Mahkota to pick up some cakes, this place is like 90% will kena saman one, so if you're going to eat at this branch make sure you put the parking coupon. Our hotel is just less than 5mins drive from Plaza Mahkota.

*Check in to Estadia Hotel*
Spent few days browsing Agoda, checking the prices, photos, reviews and all and finally chose this. Very satisfied with my choice hehe.

Finished the chicken rice ball and nadeje cakes we bought back to hotel, so chill.

Loving my hair hehehe

It was my mom's first time eating satay celup wooo she didn't like it tho, hard to satisfy nola. She didn't eat much cuz she really didn't like it, so we went to take-away the famous naan and tandoori chicken to eat at hotel.

The most ridiculous part is that we didn't have any utensils so I took the drinks stirrer in the hotel room to eat. But it's impossible so we ended up eating with our hands.

The wine I brought back from Melb. My mom drank most of it because she couldn't sleep.
***
The hotel breakfast was nice and wide spread.

Wanted to bring my mom to Nancy's kitchen for lunch cuz I know she'd like to try some nyonya food like something sambal petai something, but she's still very full after we checked out so we decided to leave Malacca and go home.

Of course we had to stop by Klebang to have a coconut milkshake before leaving Malacca.
Ciao!

A trip to Australia (Part 2 - 2018)

Happy New Yearrrrrr~!!

Flew to Adelaide in the afternoon on the 1st of January.
Ben picked us up at the airport and brought us to eat at a authentic (he claims) viet place.

Had pork vermicelli as usual cuz I never really liked pho, but their vermicelli is love.
Went back to Ben's house (where we'd be staying for the trip) to get some rest. Couldn't decide where to go for dinner at night so Ben decided to cook for us. Woiseh.
Definitely have the foodcourt standard, would pay rm10 for this. Hahaha
After dinner we went to the casino and lost some money because I insisted to play :')
*Day 2*
The next day we went to eat dimsum, which they hongkong people call "yumcha".

It looks like our dimsum but tasted so different from Malaysia's.
The xiaolongbao's skin is sooo thick sien. Cheecheongfun also thick, hah gao also thick, all the flour. And the fried dumplings' skin also thick. D:
Took some tourist photo, Ben is so good my leg looks so long here ahahahhaa.
That pig and that ball are 'tourist attractions' I saw on google, they're in the middle of the city.

Heard that this is Adelaide's(or Australia's) well known bubble tea shop, like our Tealive.

Went to visit the museum cuz that's what tourists do right? Hahaha.

Went home to rest after touring the city and found out that Ben got me a Christmas present.
Awwww look at the packaging so pretty!! I was gonna go get some LUSH products myself but aww.

Took some rest and went to Glenelg Beach, to a Malaysian who's afraid of cold, the wind can kill, and look my legs are exposed to the wind. Felt like my cap was going to fly away any sec.

Bought some fries to chill aside and just observe everyone that passed by (may sound kinda creepy but it's not hehe)

Drove to the central market and picked up 1kg of steak because Ben said he's really good at cooking steaks. So yeah our dinner for the night:

I prepared the potato and salad. I know the potato looks kinda uncooked, cuz they're too hungry and couldn't wait any longer. But it's still okay one, edible one.

Forced to play the Walking Dead board game we bought at the city earlier today. It's actually fun if you have friend like Ben who makes the game feels intense.
*Day 3*
The next day I was so excited because we're going to the PINK LAKE!!! It's called Bumbunga Lake, I found this place on google, also Ben mentioned it. Had simple breakfast and we headed out, it's around 2 hours drive from the city.

Ben brought this set of camera with extra lens and all but you know what? He didn't bring the memory card woo well played. But it doesn't matter because when we arrived I was so disappointed like seriously wth just look:
The photo people posted on google and the one I see in real life. Though Ben said maybe it's too hot in summer so the lake dried up. Sigh can you imagine seeing this after driving for 2 hours??

Closer look on the sand/land/lake idk what to call this.

Actually the sand/land is abit pink-ish orange-ish so if you put some efforts in editing your photo it can end up looking like this. LOL but yeah I think the best solution is not to go on summer.
I drove back because Ben is tired, stopped halfway for Lunch @ Caffe Primo Munno Para, Smithfield. Found this place on Foursquare & the food was okay.

Dropped by a chinese mini mart to pick up a pack of rice because Ben is making us chinese food for dinner!! And he got me a drink because I was staring at it.

Funny that I get to try this chinese milk tea at a western country. Anyway, Ben cooked us the Ginger & Spring Onion Pork and a dk what vegetables that he got from that mini mart as well.

Altho my mom's tasted so much better, but thanks for cooking for us hehe.
* Day 4*

^ Ben and Bunny hahhahaa it rhymes I'm so creative

They stamps are Beauty & the Beast's!!! How cute!!!
Today's destination is to go Mount Lofty Summit, around 30mins drive from our place.

Met this koala on the tree right beside the parking lot. Awwww I can stare at him all day.
There's a cafe up there and that cake I ordered is not nice lol. Would definitely hire Ben just by looking at all the candid photos he took for me.

Next stop is Hahndorf, just drive a lil further from Mount Lofty. Hahndorf is known for its original German-style architecture and artisanal food (I copied this sentence from google if you must know.)

Lunch @ The Haus. Various choices of beers & other alcohols. Forgot what beer is this but it's goooood. We ordered the sharing platter, some of it is nice, some I'm not used to it.

Been discussing whether this is cooked or uncooked. Not my kind of food really.

So much to see and buy, and to take photo. Bought some souvenirs and there's this shop that sells handmade fudge, got myself a rum & raisin fudge, caramel and forgot the last one I remember it's something alcoholic (it's 10aud for 3).

Drove home to rest and pack cuz it's the last night in Adelaide.

Dinner @ Star of Siam (at city). Ben insisted us to try their soft shell crab (top left if you dk how soft shell crab looks like), and it's so gooooood but soft shell crab is always good. It's kinda pricey I forgot about the price. The tomyam soup is superb!! Especially the mushrooms inside the soup haha I just love mushrooms. Other than these two, the rest are just ordinary, didn't take photo of the fried rice but yeah nothing special also.

After dinner went to Windy Point Lookout to see this night view, it's so windy lolll cold af and I wore skirt.
*Day 5*

Got this bag of "Kangaroo Land" coffee bean at Adelaide Central Market, it's good I been drinking this since I got back from Australia.
Last lunch in Adelaide @ Nghi Ngan Quan (NNQ), Ben says this is the best Vietnam restaurant in town. I think the one I had on the first day tasted better tho, just that this place is more fancy.

After lunch there's still quite a lot of time til our flight so we went to Harbour Town, an outlet near airport. Bought a boost because summer needs to drink juice.

Same with Malaysia's boost (what am I expecting lol).
Anyway this makes the end of my Adelaide trip, back to Melbourne huhu.

A trip to Australia (Part 1 - 2017)

Few days since I came back to Malaysia, I decided to write about the trip.
This is actually a very rare case cuz after high school I don't update my blog as often as I used to.
I normally write about things few months later and then date them back to the actual date so that it would seem like I wrote about it when it happened, lol.
***

Anyway, back to the trip.
We reached Melbourne at around 11pm on Christmas Eve, had some home-cooked noodles & slept.
Ohhh, 14 came to see me before I sleep just to see me. Awwww.
***

Waking up to one huge bowl of cherries (from the cherry tree in the house garden)!!
It's Christmas day today, as a Malaysian you might think that Christmas day in a foreign country should be very happening. The truth is.. no shop is open for business on Christmas... Only a few Chinese restaurants are open because idk why also. So we had out lunch at a HongKong-style restaurant, where I had this wonton mee:

I assume this is the local HK wonton mee? So different from the Malaysia wonton mee, but Malaysia's nicer (in my opinion haha don't judge).

Nobody can stop me from grabbing the handle!! @LawTeanHoe
Went home to take nap cuz no shop opens means nothing to do.
Home-cooked dinner (don't jealous) :

After dinner we drove out to see some houses with really nice Christmas deco.

We googled them, but we drove to like 10 places and only these two have deco. (AH got scammed)

One thing to mention is their McDonald's, 24 nuggets for $9.95!!
***

Western breakfast mou?

Let you all guess who is the only one who got something on Boxing Day.

When everything is on point, the lipstick, the sunlight, the hair. Tsk how can I not post this.

Boxing day lunch, everyone is so good at cooking. Just look at that roast duck, seriously.

I bet you thought this cake was bought, but nahhhh,

Since it's still holiday here there's no place to go, but there's this one place that's never closed.
And it's >>>>>>>> (drumrolls) >>>>>>>> CASINO!!!!

So we went to the Crown Entertainment Complex, where the casino is at.
Had dinner @ San Antone by Bludso's BBQ inside the complex.
Wanted to eat at their food court actually, but there's crowded af.

I was actually happy that we decided to eat here, where Joseph's mom ordered 500ml of wine just for herself and me. I spent the next one hour feeling dizzy and having stupid/crazy snapchat conversation with my best friend, while blindly following Sw and Joseph walking from table to table. I thought that's it, my night is complete. But the time I was give the chips and sat down at the table, gg you should have seen my face, that instant addiction. For those of you who haven't tried gambling at casino, don't do it. lel

Look, here's a photo of my hand holding chips & it's blurred because I was so thrilled that my hands tremble haha nola it's because I was walking.

Left the casino at around 11pm to see the fire show outside Crown. It was so not what I expected haha I thought it's gonna be those concert stage firework kinda stuff.
***

The next day we went to the city again. Had lunch @ Mekong Vietnamese, they said it's a famous pho place but I didn't like pho so yeah, no pho for me. Their portion can feed two me tho.

Anyway, Sw & Joseph were going to this 'fireside gathering??' ' (some Hearthstone event), so I get to spend my day with 14 all alone, yay finallyyyyyy.

I had to post this cuz when I was going through other people's itineraries, they said this is a must-go tourist spot. I wasn't even looking for this place, I was just aimlessly walking around with 14 & randomly walked into this building (I don't even know what's its name), but the second I looked up I was like "EHY THIS!!"

Summing up our day in a collage.
Spent most of the time shopping because everything just seems so cheap when you're travelling, you get me? Hahaha got matching friendship rings because Pandora is cheaper there hehe.

The line at Pandora was kinda long so they gave us mineral water while we wait, tsk tsk so nice.
And then we went to this cafe called Little Rogue Coffee because 14 highly recommended their Matcha Latte. It's hidden at a lorong, so much feels. (Just like bumbung, or lorong mamak.)

Sat at the window seats because there's no empty table, business so good lol. Altho I can't take nice photo of the drinks at the table, but I get to look at those people passing by or just sitting on the road sipping coffee. Angmo really knows how to live their life.

As we were walking back to the bus stop she asked me what else I wanted to eat, so we went through my foursquare list and we decided to go the Aqua S ice cream shop.

Should have paired pink with blue *sigh* regret sia.
They only have 3 flavours & it changes from time to time (14 told me), I think the sea-salt flavour (blue) is permanent tho. Anyway we got all three, the green one is coconut and the pink one I just couldn't recall. They are too sweet for my liking but very instaworthy, altho I didn't take any instagramable photo idk why.

Had dinner at 14's Korean BBQ shop, I really don't know why I didn't take photo of the dinner. Costed 100+ dollars leh, you try convert back to ringgit, wacao. But the boss gave us 2 pieces of wagyu beef and a plate of fried glass noodle for free, cannot complain already lol.

***

Today we went to Brighton beach, ayyo finally a tourist spot. Took awhile to find parking but a kind soul gave me a paid parking ticket because she paid for a whole day parking and she was leaving.

Lunch @ Brighton Baths Cafe, their tartar sauce is really nice. The fish & chips cost $22 but I guess it's okay? Not sure about the food price range at Australia, but the ambience there is ♥, dogs lying all around, strong wind blowing from the sea.

And then I went shopping again kekeke. Had to stop because Sw & Joseph said their legs cmi. *smh
***
The next day Joseph brought me to Chadstone Shopping Centre because his leg has recovered. So nice of him, because of him I got a kangaroo charm as he said I should get something related to Australia since I'm here and that makes perfect sense..

If you zoom into the photo you can see a kangaroo, lol.

Lunch at Chadstone's food court, had this from the china noodle stall recommended by Joseph. Spent so long looking for an empty table, people here just love food court.

Dinner @ Wagaya Restaurant in the city. They have really nice sushi and the price is so reasonable! Well not like Malaysia cheap kinda cheap, but compared to other food places at Australia they are reasonable. Also the deco there is super niceeeeee.

After dinner 14 came to pick me up cuz I'm spending the night at her place. Finally get to go to the famous Joomak after seeing all my friends' post on instagram. So nice of her brother, he offered to drive us. And that's when I first sit in a modded car.

Not sure if it's me shaking or the car lol

We ordered the strawberry soju, peach rice wine, egg roll, kimchi stew & corn cheese. And tbh, all of them are fantastic!! Especially the rice wine, it's so thick and foamy (100000x better than those bottled rice wine). 14 told me that Joomak makes their own rice wine & soju, tsk wish we have Joomak in Malaysia.

***
It's road trip day!! Today's:
Domaine Chandon (winery)
Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery (chocoolate factory)
Cherry Hill Orchards (cherry picking)

The winery is perfect for photos, all the green background with perfect natural lighting. Just pay $12 you get to taste 5 types of wines.

Keeron
  Junming

They say the ice-cream outside the chocolate factory is a must, $5/6 for one, 7lan big.

There's this band?? performing at the cherry farm. Damn they're so good looking, especially the one holding violin, he sings well too.

I bought these because I thought it's cherry cider!!! Turned out to be cherry juice!! The cider is placed at the other corner!!! FMLLLLL

Lunch @ Pho Huong Viet in Box Hill. Sw says it's nicer than Mekong's.
My first pho in my life, got the chicken pho cuz I'm a Buddhist I can't eat beef. I still prefer the vietnamese vermicelli tho.

Went home to nap so that we have energy to go drinking at night. Again took me one hour plus to get ready as I'm really bad at putting on make up and contacts because I only put on make up when there's really special occasions (< 5 times) and I only wear contacts when I put on make up.

If you ignore the fat face it's not bad right. LOL

For someone who couldn't go out late at night, in case you don't know it's me, I don't even have a curfew, I'm just not allowed to go out at night. Someone like me, get to go out to drink at night, you know that feeling? For the first time I get to walk into a club (I've never been near to a club), and drink few rounds with my best friend? And go down to the dance floor where there's all angmo? You can never imagine that feeling if you don't have STRICT parents. If you know me in person I'm a super outgoing & crazy person, when everyone first heard that I've never been to a club they be like "You're lying" "Impossible" and etc. But yeah the point is that it's my first time at a club. Although we went to the club by accident, we wanted to go to bar & chill but Joseph wanted to go this rooftop shisha place which is closed so we searched "hookah" on foursquare where we ended up here. They did have a security (is that what you call that guy?) which this high tech machine they use to scan your ID/Passport before you go in, and I just thought Melbourne bar has really high security lol.

Wow this is a long one so maybe you can ignore since going to club is not so big of a deal for you people.

Joomak again cuz that day Joseph didn't get to come with us. Rice wine is love!!
***
It's zoo day ehy, zoo on the last day of 2017~

Family photo, don't we look like a family together?
Sitting on the grass eating snacks, ayyo so good to be foreigner.

Wombat neh, how cute.
$4.50 soft serve
Jap ramen @ Westfield food court

Look how I spent my new year eve night, just the right way hahaha

Happy 2018 everyone!
